On behalf of St Ninian’s High School and The YPI Foundation, I would like to congratulate all of our 2nd year pupils for their hard work and enthusiasm during this project. The Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) is an active citizenship programme that raises awareness amongst young people about philanthropy and their local community. Each team was responsible for directing a £3000 YPI Grant to a local charity through a unique programme of team work, research and competition. YPI Scotland is all about creativity and passion, leaving the four walls of the classroom behind, and supporting the issues you care most about.
Our pupils took on this challenge with an excellent attitude and their dedication was evident throughout this task since it began in September 2018. 10 groups made it to the final held in February 2019. The winning group was awarded £3000 from The YPI Foundation for their charity. In addition to this, the school donated £100 to each of the remaining 9 finalists. We are very proud of the achievements of all of our pupils and thank them for all that they have done.
Congratulations to our winning team from 2a5 and their charity The Village Storytelling Centre
