IT’S HALLOWEEN!

Primary Six found out that there was a horrible hairy hand lurking somewhere in the classroom that had been left behind. Our resident detective, Connor McSporran, later found the hairy hand hiding at the back of his tray and won some house points for being so brave when finding it! – Miss Hamilton

Loom Bands!

The Loom Band craze continues in Primary 6 as the children prepare for their Remembrance Day fundraiser. We have all had a lot of fun making the poppy bracelets that will be sold next Tuesday 11th November.

I must say I have learned a lot from the children this week and, thanks to their help, I have managed to make my first loom band bracelet! Thank you everyone! – Miss Hamilton.

Pentagons Maths Games

We are the Pentagons Maths group and our homework last week was to design a game based on Percentages. We could create any game we wanted. We managed to play each of the games that were brought in. – Pentagons

I was really impressed by the quality of the games that the children had created and we all enjoyed playing them and showing them off! Take a look at some of the games in action. – Miss Hamilton.

My game was a game of fractions, decimals and percentages dominoes  -Arran

My game was called Stuart’s Fun Time. To win my game you had to land on the finish square and if you jumped over it you had to start again. There were different sort of squares like have another go, back to the start and just questions. – Stuart

My game is called Percentages Zap. You pull cards out of the tub and answer the questions on them. If you get a zap card you put all the cards you have collected back in the tub. If you get a trade card you have to swap cards with the person you are playing against. – Ewan

My maths game is a different version of Snakes and Ladders. How you play is if you land on a purple square, you take a card and answer it. If you get it correct you move on one. If you get it wrong you go back to the start. The rest is the same as the original game. – Victoria

My game is a classic Percentages Board Game. When you land on a square with a question you need to answer it and first person to reach the end wins!!! – Nicola

My game is called Euan’s Maths Maze and you need to answer the question that is on every square you land on. If you get it wrong you have to move back two spaces and first to the finish wins– Euan

Our New Class Blog.

Welcome to our shiny new class blog! We plan to use our class blog to keep a record of our experiences in Primary 6.
It will also allow parents and relatives at home to take a look inside our classroom to see what is happening on a day-to-day basis.
The class will be working together to build an exciting and interesting blog that they can truly take ownership of.

Stay tuned for some posts in the near future.
I hope you have a brilliant October holiday!
