In health and wellbeing we have been learning how to safely prepare food so we decided to make lentil soup. The first thing we had to do was WASH our hands!
Ben “We washed our hands so no bacteria got on the food”
Next we had to peel and chop our vegetables.
Iris “I peeled the leek into smaller pieces”
Amy “I am watching Iris carefully”
Amber “Chopping the turnip was quite tricky because it was hard”
Lucas “I am cutting the turnip into small pieces”
Liv “I held the bowl for the boys to put the vegetables in”
Rosie “I am watching them chop safely”
Alexander “I am cutting the carrot and holding it tight so it doesn’t slip”
Beth “I am cutting the onions into little pieces and putting them into the bowl”
Mitchell “Our group were exhausted from the chopping but delighted with our efforts!”
Very happy chefs here in Primary 3!
Ruby “Miss Ritchie washed the lentils in cold water so get rid of germs”
Sam “The chicken stock cubes dissolved in the hot water”
Sandi “We used stock cubes to add flavour”
Karine “We mixed all our ingredients with a wooden spoon!”
We look forward to tasting our soup and writing the recipe in Literacy!
