For science week and in preparation for our school trip and workshop to the science centre next week we have been learning about the human body.
We have a zone set up in the classroom as you will see below to allow for our own investigations about the human body by looking at the x-rays….
We learnt about the skeleton and the names of some of the vital bones in the body. We learnt about the spine and how the spine controls all the movements in the body.
We learnt that bones are also there to protect the organs in our body such as our brain. We then took part in a group task…
We were put into groups of 3 and each group were given an egg. The egg was to be our brain and we had to build our own skull to protect our “brain” from cracking and breaking if we had a fall (dropped from a height!).
Have a look at how we got on…..
Egg drop time…
Well done to 2 groups who’s “brains” survived!!!
