On Thursday, we started our morning phonics activities and play with a sound scavenger hunt! Everyone looked for as many items beginning with s, a, t, i, p, n as they could. Interestingly, some names of items were changed to suit the task. e.g. a caterpillar became an insect, blocks became sticks and lots of items just became ‘toys.’ Creative minds in the making… or just trying to pull the wool over my eyes? Either way, the pupils were very engaged and loved the challenge. Pupils also practised the formation of these sounds using playdough and writing them in our busy books. Well done 1.4.
We have been very busy learning new sounds and practising our formation of both letters and numbers. We are now learning how to blend sounds together to read words and are matching numbers with quantities.
