Mental Maths and Autumn discovery play!

We have been talking about why we would need mental maths skills in our lives and discussing how important mental maths is as we use it everyday. We used our mental maths skills to work out equations on our whiteboards.

We have also been using our senses to explore and discover things we find in autumn such as pumpkins, leaves and pine cones. Our tuff tray also includes lots of words relating to autumn to help us talk and write about autumn.

Plastic Pollution in Primary 2.6

As part of our Mearns Masters we have been researching and learning about plastic pollution in our Oceans and the effects this is having on the sea creatures who live there.

Primary 2.6 decided to make toy boxes for toys which were better for the environment and did not include any plastic to help save our sea creatures!

We had a great time making our boxes and we can’t wait to paint them to see the finished product.
