Showcases, stories and super fun times!

It has been a very busy week in Primary 2.6! We started off our week with Mearns got talent auditions! Well Done to all of the participants everyone was excellent! 🌟

We then had our Mearns Masters showcase which was fantastic! Thank you to everyone who came along to watch our presentation and try some of our yummy treats we made! πŸ˜„

We then spent Thursday afternoon listening and taking part in a lovely giglets story where we went camping! The children had great fun doing all of the actions from climbing hills to building tents to pushing pegs into the ground! Well Done boys and girls! 😁

Jubilee Celebrations in P2.6!

We learned all about the Queen’s platinum jubilee and designed crowns for the Queen! We talked about how people all across the United Kingdom will celebrate this weekend and why we are celebrating the Queens 70 years of reign! πŸ‘‘

We also made flags and watched a video telling us all about the jubilee. The children were particularly interested in the RAF jets that flew over during royal celebrations! πŸ‘‘

We dug for treasure in the sand and found lots of coins with Queen Elizabeth’s head on them!

Kitchen Skills and Creativity!

The boys and girls had great fun in the kitchen and worked very hard learning the grating technique and also continuing to practise the claw chopping technique! The boys and girls did an excellent job of making yummy broccoli cheese pastries! Well done P2.6! πŸ˜„

Today we were working hard on handwriting and writing the months of the year, the boys and girls all did an excellent job and had lovely layout in their handwriting jotters!

We have also been learning about data handling in numeracy and we went out into our car park to create tally charts of how many of each coloured car there was in the car park! The children had great fun taking their learning outdoors and we were able to use the data they had collected to build on our learning and create a class bar graph! Well done boys and girls! 🌟

Sports Day training πŸ₯Ž and Kitchen fun!

The children had a great time taking part in some fun activities training for our upcoming sports day! We played bean bag toss, showed off our hockey skills in dribbling and shooting and lots of other fun sports!

The boys and girls also had a great time learning the claw grip in the kitchen as part of our Mearns Masters! They all did an excellent job of cutting and tasting the fruit and vegetables!
