STEM Week

This week we have been taking part in lots of outdoor STEM activities! We went on a nature walk around our school and collected resources to create transient art. The boys and girls loved exploring our outdoor areas and collecting leaves and sticks to create their art! πŸ‚Β πŸƒΒ

We read the story of the owl who was afraid of the dark and used this as inspiration to create our transient art! These were fabulous! Well done boys and girls!

We also displayed excellent team working skills when we worked together to design and construct models using different building resources. The boys and girls constructed houses and buildings and some even made small villages!

We have been working on doubling and halving in mathematics and the boys and girls used counting cubes to support them with halving numbers.

STEM outdoor fun!

We had a great time den building with Primary 2.5 and having a little chocolate treat afterwards! The boys and girls made some excellent dens! We worked in teams to create our very own dens to share with our friends!

We took part in a scavenger hunt around our school grounds and found lots of nature related items.

Today we were lucky to have an interactive session with Mr Balfour, a dentist 🦷. We learned lots of fascinating facts about teeth and keeping them healthy. We are super excited to develop our brilliant brushing skills at home and some of us were inspired to pursue a career in dentistry!

World Book Day and Outdoor PE

The class had a great time today taking part in World Book Day activities. This included listening to a new story, sharing our favourite books and even working on writing our own. The pupils also enjoyed a story about paper dolls and some were inspired to create their own.

We also made it outside for some PE today before the rain came on! Here are some pictures from today.
