If I was an astronaut ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿš€ ๐Ÿš€

The boys and girls in Primary 2.6 watched a real life astronaut read them the book โ€˜If I was an astronautโ€™ and then they had a chance to write about if they were an astronaut! From visiting Saturnโ€™s rings to testing the temperature of the moon ๐ŸŒ’ย the children have really used their imaginations to produce this writing!

We then went on a nature walk around our school with Primary 2.5, we all had a great time ๐Ÿ˜

Internet Safety and snow fun โ›„๏ธ

P2.6 read โ€˜Digiduck and the Magic Castleโ€™ and then took part in a drama lesson. The boys and girls role played the scene where shy sheep guesses Digiducks passwords and we discussed as a class why itโ€™s not a good idea to discuss peopleโ€™s passwords:

The boys and girls had great fun out in the snow for their values playtime today!

Maths outdoors and Valentines Day activities ๐Ÿ’•

Today in maths we looked at fractions, we learned that a fraction is a part of a whole. The boys and girls found sticks and represented halves and whole fractions. We then played a game where we had to run to the hoops that represented the fraction Miss Hamilton said. We did very well with this! ๐Ÿ˜„

In class we used scales and other measuring tools to weigh our valentines rice! The boys and girls had a great time playing in the tuff tray and measuring the rice using the measuring tools.

Coding and more!

For our new Mearns Masters pathway we have been learning to code using Scratch jr and other coding resources. We have created excellent projects choosing our backgrounds, characters and coding our characters to move across the page.

ย

We used what we had learned from Scratch jr to begin to plan a digital story. We thought about the setting and characters that would be included in our story.

The children also had time to code using our Bee-Bots and used the challenge cards to help them!

While we have been tinkering on the IPads and learning how to code we also have been tinkering with technology toys in our areas, here are some of our creations!
