Today in P2.6 we were scientists and performed an experiment to make the layers of the ocean! We used recycled plastic bottles to help save our oceans and talked about what animals are found in each layer! ๐ฅฝโป๏ธ

During our Mearns Masters we had a special visitor who came to tell us all about bees and how we can save them to support our bee campaign! ๐ Thank you to Mrs Wheel for making our lesson so fun with lots of interesting bee items for us to look at and talk about! We even had a chance to try some honey!

Today in maths P2 did odd and even exercise! The children enjoyed using exercise to learn their odd and even numbers.

We also did some mental maths in our jotters to revise everything we have been learning so far.

Some children used their learning of odd and even numbers to sort our ducks into odd and even piles! ๐

P2.6 had great fun during our ‘relaxing reading’ time. They had time to choose books from our reading garden and find new words they may not have heard before. Some children used the pictures to make their own stories from different books! Each pupil picked their favourite book and told the rest of the class why this was their favourite.

We also have been learning about bonfire night and why we celebrate this. We made fireworks using paint and had great fun watching some fireworks!

In literacy P2 have been working on grammar and writing super sentences! The pupils have also been playing hook a duck to make sentences using full stops and capital letters! Well Done Primary 2.6!

Primary 2.6 worked hard on different concepts today in maths including ordering numbers and seasons and months. Thank you to one pupil who also brought in a plastic pollution book from the local library to show us, we all had a great time looking through and learning some new facts about plastic pollution!
