Yesterday was our first visit to the kitchen. We had a great time learning how to chop vegetables using the ‘claw grip’ and also sampling some fruit and vegetables. We recorded our thoughts about each item we tasted using smiley faces.

As past of our learning in Health and Wellbeing and Science, we have started to learn about our organs. O kindly brought in a book at home which she shared with the class About our organs and how to look after them. 📖 We loved reading it and looking under the flaps to find out facts and information.
We then also discussed what foods are good for us and what foods we should eat in moderation. 🍐 🍕 We created tables to show the data.
As of next week, we are going to be working in the kitchen for Mearns Masters and we are going to sample some healthy foods and start cooking!
Keep an eye on our a Google Classroom for our Health Homework Project next week. ✍️ 🍎 🍽
We are currently enjoying our movie afternoon organised by the school. We chose to watch the film “Despicable Me 2”. We pretended we were in the cinema and turned the lights off and enjoyed scoffing popcorn.

Last week we went on a bear hunt! We enjoyed reading the story together, doing a little role play and acting out the different situations and places in the story and then we made our own maps for the locations.
We had a ball!

Today was our last coding session for Mearns Masters. We created celebration games with different criteria. Some of us chose to create a Christmas game, others chose a birthday party game. We created characters and backgrounds and then used code to make them move and change. Our games look fabulous!
