We had a virtual visit from Mr Balfour who is a dentist. He told us about how he uses STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) in his job. He has to use lighting and cameras to take photos of the teeth, he uses science and different materials to make impressions and he uses machines to take x-rays.

To start off our STEM week, we had a virtual visit from 2 farmers yesterday. We enjoyed seeing the sheep and horses on the video camera and finding out about how they look after the sheep. 🐑 🐎 We also learned about the equipment they use on the farm. We were really impressed with the big tractor!
Yesterday, we had an amazing day full of pancakes! We all went to the kitchen in small groups and helped prepare the pancake batter, cook them (and even flip them!) and some of us prepared our fruit toppings. In class, we all wrote instructions for how to make pancakes. In the afternoon, we had a pancake party! We topped our pancakes, ate them and read a story about Pancake Day. It was such a lovely day.
Last week we learned how to grate items and we had a grate time (ha)! We also developed her knowledge further of chopping and we used sharp knives for the first time. Our soup looked, smelled and tasted delicous!
We had lots of fun playing in the snow this morning for our PE and Values Play. Some of us built snowmen and igloos, some of us made snow balls and had a throwing contest and some of us tried to make snow angels. We ran about and worked our muscles very hard when rolling the snow!
