Maths Week Scotland

We’ve had a busy 2 days doing lots of maths activities.

We have enjoyed looked at shape, patterns and symmetry, counting and playing maths games. Some of us even decided to make maths questions for our friends to answer.

We have been learning about some of Plato’s theories and have had fun trying them out. Today we looked at shadows and enjoyed looking for shadows outside and also working with a partner to creat and be each other’s shadows. Tomorrow,  we are going to try and make our own shadow puppets.

Mearns Masters and Outdoor Learning

We had a super time yesterday being outdoors. We are working hard to develop our campaign to save the bees as part of our Mearns Masters focus! We went in the woods behind our playground and made bug hotels and we also planted some lovely Scottish flowers and seeds to attract bees and other wildlife to visit our school.

Photo permissions

I have a very limited number of photo permissions back so cannot upload photos yet of many pupils. Please ensure you return the brown envelope, reply to the office email or contact the office to give permission if you haven’t already done so. 📷 Thanks, A Davidson.

Germs

At the beginning of September, we learned about the importance of washing our hands and sneezing and coughing into our elbows to prevent germs spreading. Miss Davidson used her snot spray and airzooka to show how far a sneeze and cough can travel. We all got a shot and had lots of fun. We then created instructions on how to wash our hands properly.
