Our approach at Overlee
The ‘getting it right for every child’ approach helps practitioners focus on what makes a positive difference for children and young people, and how they can act to deliver these improvements. Your child is a unique individual. For us to deliver services that will make a positive difference to your child’s wellbeing, health, education and social care, staff across East Renfrewshire may share information about your child. This information will allow us to understand your child’s needs in the context of their family and community.
This approach is being added to all existing policy, practice, strategy and legislation affecting children, young people and their families.
Getting it right for every child means children, young people and their families:
1. Will feel confident about the help they’re getting
2. Understand what’s happening and why
3. Have been listened to carefully and their wishes have been heard and understood
4. Are appropriately involved in discussions and decisions that affect them
5. Can rely on appropriate help being available as soon as possible
6. Will have experienced a more streamlined and co-ordinated response from practitioners
