Marching into March 2025🌻

Marching into March🌻

Hello and welcome to March, can you believe it we are almost into April. Again the Yellow Group have been very busy in the nursery. 💛 Have a look to see what we have been getting up to…

In the Art Area, we continue to explore the work of artist Vincent Van Gough. We have been observing his famous sunflower art work and have created our own sunflowers using paint, collage and still life drawing🌻.  As every sunflower is different and unique we have discussed that we are all different and unique too. Well done everyone your sunflowers 🌻 are just wonderful 💛

We looked closely at the sunflowers and discussed its parts from the seed,  stem, leaves and petals. We learned that plants need sun ☀️ and water 💦 for them to grow and survive.

“Sunflowers need sun and rain to grow “
“I like the sunflowers especially the yellow petals “
“Sunflowers grow really tall and needs lots of sun for them to grow “
“I like the smell of the sunflowers”

FireEngine 🚒

We had a visit from our local Fire and Rescue Service. We got to look at the fire engine and had a go of using the hose which was so much fun.

LEARNING MANDARIN

We had a fantastic visit from Yijie Xu who taught us a  little bit of Mandarin.  All the children introduced themselves  by saying   “Ni Hao” (hello), my name is ……”

BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS 📖

The children had the opportunity to vote for their choice of book gifted from the Book Trust during Book Fayre Week.  They were very excited to receive these 😊  There are still a few to hand out so don’t worry if your child hasn’t received their book yet.

Have a lovely Easter Break and we will see you in April for a busy summer term 🐣🐰
