April 2024🌈

Welcome back!

This month we have been exploring rainbows. 🌈

We read a story called “How to Catch a Rainbow” and drew pictures of a rainbow. 🌈

We have learned that rainbows are formed by sun and rain ☀☔. We are also practising the “Rainbow Song” in the following order: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet .

Can you go on a rainbow hunt around your house or outside?

Outdoor Learning

We have had a very mixed few weeks of weather this month,  one day it’s wellies and waterproofs and the next suncream and sun hats.  Whatever the weather its always a busy place for fun and learning and we’ve done lots of that.

The children have worked together using problem solving and reasoning skills to build some risky play obstacle courses. This started off as a plank of wood on one crate and was quickly extended to various planks balancing on crates at twice the height.

Their confidence is growing all the time as they assess their own risk and realise their ability.

Adding water makes you slide much faster!

“Who’s that trip trapping over my bridge?” Re-enacting Billy Goats Gruff.

Sports Day

Lots of practice of our balancing, jumping, running and turning skills beforehand came in handy for our sports day.

Giving each other a helping hand to keep their balance.
Working on our Yellow Team flat!

See you next month,

Love, Mrs McLean & Miss Miller xxx
