Festive Fun

3,800+ Hello Winter Stock Illustrations, Royalty-Free Vector Graphics & Clip Art - iStock

Throughout the magical month of December all the children in the red group have been so excited and even shared lots of fun stories over little elves that have visited their homes.

In nursery there has been a little Christmas magic sprinkled in all areas allowing the children to continue and extend their interests as well as following more structured experiences in preparation for the Christmas markets.
We have made lots of crafts, written letters, sang songs, built grottos and sleighs, met some reindeers, danced and even dressed up! It has been jam packed full of fun!

Below is a snapshot of some fun things we got up to. 🎄🎅🦌

Thank you to each one of our wonderful families who helped make the Christmas markets a raging success! We all believe it was the best to date with the children talking about it for days afterwards.

Happy New Year, we hope you all had a restful break. We would like to start by  congratulating Mrs McCluskey on the safe arrival of her beautiful baby boy Logan, we wish her all the very best as she starts to make new memories with her lovely family.

We can now introduce our new keyworker Mrs Ramsay, who will be replacing Mrs McCluskey while she is on maternity leave. Mrs Ramsay is delighted to join the Red Group and has been busy bonding with all the children at Cross Arthurlie.

During this month we have had the pleasure of welcoming some new children to our group. We are looking forward to getting to know them and watching them grow during their time at nursery.

The children have been busy working on their pre-writing skills by participating in mark making experiences throughout their time in nursery.

Our award winners for January & February, well done!

Thank you for all your continued support and encouragement.

SpoOoky October 🎃

We have welcomed a few more children into the Red Group over the last few weeks. It has been a treat to see them settle into our new routine at nursery with some help from their new friends!

During maths week we explored a variety of concepts such as length, weight and capacity. We were very impressed with how well the children listened and followed more complex instructions!

When investigating different emotions, some children were able to copy and create their own different faces, and predict how they may be feeling.

The children in the red group had the opportunity to help identify the sounds of the letters and then organise different items into the corresponding lettered tubs by identifying the initial sounds.

Many children in the red group have been naturally discussing Halloween and have been taking part in a variety of experiences as it approaches. 🎃 👻

Cant wait to see you in November!

Welcome to the red group ♥️

Welcome back to all of our red group families!

It has been wonderful welcoming all of our returning children back to nursery this month. It has been thrilling to watch as they have adapted back into our routine and following our rules with ease. Many of our older children have also been an incredible support and role models to our new children who have been settling in.

Below are some photographs of what we have been getting up to as we explore and investigate all areas both indoors and outdoors.

A big welcome to all of our new children who have settled into their new routine at nursery and are learning the new rules within the different areas.

It has been a pleasure watching the older children pass on their knowledge to the younger ones.

We can’t wait to see you all continue to grow, learn and have fun at nursery.

Just a gentle reminder of some important nursery information –

  • Can you please make sure your child has indoor shoes to change into when they arrive at nursery (preferably not crocs)
  • A Monday is our main day for access to the gym hall, please ensure appropriate footwear is worn on this day and earrings are removed.
  • The Red Groups Travelling Tales day is a Wednesday, please remember to bring your bag and book back each week and place it in the drop box in the foyer. Any children not in on a Wednesday will have an opportunity to pick a book another day.
  • If children could please have spare clothes in bags in case of accidents and/or wet and muddy play.
  • If possible please provide a pair of wellies for outdoor play.
  • During the warm weather can we please ask that sun cream is applied prior to attending nursery and a labelled bottle of sun cream is provided for the staff to then top up in the afternoon.
