February Fun

The month of February has been a very busy time in nursery.  We  thoroughly enjoyed stay and play where we welcomed our loved ones into the nursery, experiencing all we have to offer here.  Thanks to everyone who came along,  we really appreciate it. If you were unable to make it along don’t worry as there will be further opportunities throughout the year.

The child are developing their physical skills outdoors and inside the play room. They participated in an obstacle course learning to wait their turn and move their body in different ways, over, under and through.

The red group are enjoying participating in Book Bug sessions.  They are developing their knowledge of rhyme and rhythm whilst  keeping the beat.  We use the material to help keep the beat to the rhyme by working together and moving the material up and down, which in turn moves the puppet in the air.

We have had a great time exploring the nursery garden. The weather has been so cold the water froze and made big pieces of ice. The children investigated the ice.

♥ Finding valentines hearts. They have been used their detective skills to find all the hearts around the garden. They have been developing their number skills when finding the hearts and organising  them in the correct order.

Well done, great job!

Remember November

Welcome to our November blog,  it’s that time again to take a look at some of the exciting experiences that we have had in nursery recently.

During the month of November we dressed in our pyjamas and participated in some physical challenges in the gym hall all in the aid of a good cause.  We raised £537.28 for Children in Need. Well done everyone! 👍

We have been focusing on people who help us in the community and just had a visit from the local Fire Brigade. They told us all about how they keep us safe before letting the children take turns to use the hose and sit in the fire engine.

There has been lots of interest in cooking and baking, the children have made damper bread, noodle soup and shortbread. They have learned about food hygiene,  took turns,  explored numbers and measure.

Here are a few snaps of the children showing independence as they choose their book for travelling tales.  We hope you enjoy reading them with your child!

Looking forward to sending our last post of the year, which will be filled with lots of festive fun.

Stepping into September 🥾

Welcome everyone! We are so pleased to share some of the wonderful learning  and experiences your children have undertaken this month. Hope you enjoy looking through this with your child.🔎

The red group have been chosen this year to represent the nursery in the pupil  council committee.  We were delighted to meet with members of the P7 pupil council who explained to the red group the new roles and responsibilities they will have.

The children were playing games and they were using their increasing observational skills to find the odd one out.

Here we are developing balance,  concentration, resilience and problem solving skills.

Learning to rhyme, problem-solving,  making ten and sharing with others.

This month the nursery had its first stay and play session, where our parents came to learn through play that was led by their child.  Your child would have been very excited to show you all their favourite areas that they enjoy learning in.

Finally, we would like to share with you all the children who have received awards this month. Well done everyone!

Looking forward to seeing who will gain awards next month.  Watch this space!

We hope you have a lovely September Weekend!
