Welcome to our October Blog
Throughout this month the children have been discussing the changing weather outdoors. From this spark, we began our very own red group calendar. Each day we have discussed the different types of weather and assigned them to the morning or afternoon.
The children have therefore been developing their sense of routine and time.
The children have really enjoyed learning about all things Autumnal and are expanding their knowledge on this season.
Project Teddy Bear
Since August the children have been collaborating on a project… making their very own red group teddy bear.
Children have all taken a role, either big or small, whatever they have been interested in doing.
Some children have decorated a patch of the teddy bears material, some have stitched these patches together, some stuffed the teddy bear and some children have even used the sewing machine to make bags and pillows for the teddy.
This has instilled a feeling of accomplishment and ownership in the children as they have thoroughly enjoyed creating and playing with all four of the groups bears.
We are now in the process of voting for our bear…
I wonder if little bear will be named
Patch, Poppy or Rosie? 🐻🧸
Some of our teddies have been on a journey already…
Miss Burnett took the blue teddy to the beach where they found crabs and shells.
Mrs Love’s daughter took red ted ALL the way to Iceland…
Mrs McCluskey and her dog Heidi took red ted to the park.
Green ted went to see the Falkirk Wheel.
More fun and exciting adventures are ahead for our precious bears.
We dressed up as our favourite characters to celebrate Halloween 🎃
Come back in November to see what the Red group have been up to
Mrs McCluskey, Mrs Love and Mrs McFarlane.
