April 🌸 🐥🌿

We hope that all our families have had a lovely Spring break and enjoyed some chilled time together over the holidays. The children were all very excited to be back at nursery and tell us about their adventures.

Since we have come back from Spring break the children have been learning how to look after a baby using our dolls in the house corner. They particularly enjoyed learning how to bath and dress a baby.

The children have been creating food out of salt dough and playdough for the house corner; they also made a television out of a cardboard box, as no house is complete without one. The children have also used a 3 minute egg timer developing their awareness of time. This provided a visual for the children helping them to understand the concept of 3 minutes.

During nurture time, we have been discussing spring time and exploring what flowers and plants need to grow. This was then continued through stay and play, where parents/carers were invited to help plant in the community garden.

At nurture time we have been practising identifying our names and counting the number of letters in our first and surname. We have been using our name boards and pens to practise writing our name as well.
