We have been learning all about Fairyland in our classroom, and working very hard to bring it back!
Yesterday we made puppets from different Fairytales and we are going to put on a show for the rest of our classmates.
“I am making a prince and a horse puppet from Rapunzel. I am excited to put on the show” – Rachel
“I made a Rapunzel puppet. She has long blonde hair and was locked up in a tower for 100 years.” – Isla
“I made a cow from the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and I made Jack’s mum too. I am good at making puppets.” – Eve
Today we made puppets to make shows with the puppets from different fairy tales. My story was Rapunzel and I made a Rapunzel puppet. We used lollipop sticks and card to make the puppets. We performed our stories to the class using a puppet theatre. I enjoyed drawing the characters.
Kung Hei Fat Choi to you all!
We have been working hard to make Chinese lanterns. We hope you like them! We learned all about Chinese New Year and how it began. Did you know that the Jade Emperor challenged all of the animals to a race, and the 12 animals who finished first made up the Chinese Calendar?
Most of us are the year of the Rat or the year of the Ox.
As part of our recycling topic, we have been looking at different types of rubbish and thinking about the things that can be recycled, and where they should go.
We decided to look in the playground for any litter that had been left, so we could put it in the correct place to be recycled. We found a lot of things, including several lunchboxes and jackets! It was very cold outside, and some things were stuck beneath the ice. We found some litter too, and when we got back to class we talked about where these should go.
We also talked about being responsible, and how it is our responsibility to keep our playground clean and tidy.
We worked very hard on our Winter Writing Festival before Christmas. We wrote a story about a ‘Snowglobe Adventure’. We were excited to share our learning with some of the P4 children. They shared their Grinch stories with us. It was fun to see the kind of writing from the older children. We peer-assessed the work by giving evaluative feedback. Most of us had managed to remember to use capital letters and full stops correctly, as well as including connectives and WOW words.
Hello and welcome to our blog!
We are the current P2s at Netherlee Primary and we have started a blog as a way for us to share our learning with our families, friends and other people in the school community. We have been improving our ICT skills and will use these to help us write the blog posts, with some help from our teachers.
P2d will take the initial responsibility for sharing and posting.
We hope you enjoy finding out about our learning. We look forward to sharing the exciting things we do with you!
Find out what we have been up to!
