Ice

Look what we found this morning!

The whole world is covered in snow, frost and ice. We were thinking about what we could do to make the ice go away?

Activities

What could you use to melt ice?

Try pouring cold water on one section and warm water on another, what happens?

Find some salt and sprinkle it on ice, listen carefully, what can you hear?

Use a gloved hand, stick or paintbrush to write your name in the frost.

Place some ice in the sunshine and time how long it takes to melt.

Snapshot Books

We would love to hear about the different activities that you are enjoying with your family during this period of home learning.

Starting next week Snap Shot books will be available for collection from the nursery foyer. They will be on the blue trolleys and organised by group. Please come and collect your book at a time that suits you between 8am and 3pm.

Each day there will also be a selection of home learning bags available for collection. When you have finished with a bag please place it in the large plastic boxes as usual so they can be quarantined and checked.

Snow!!!

It is so exciting to have woken up to the world being covered in snow! If you get the chance to take your learning outdoors today, here are a couple of activities you could try!

Activities

Pop into your garden and see how tall a snow man you can make, remember to add eyes, a mouth, a carrot nose and see if you can find sticks for arms. Measure how tall your snowman is when you finish

Draw a large circle in the snow and see how many snowballs you can throw inside it. Remember to count them.

Use a stick or your boot to draw 2D shapes in the snow.

Roll a snowball and then use scales to see how heavy it is.

See how far you can throw a snowball, try measuring the distance in cm.

Challenge
