The fantastic Mr Tyler is now joining us for science on a Tuesday afternoon. He loves teaching Science even more than Mrs Arbuckle. He will be teaching States of Matter over the next few weeks. He gave us a little introduction last week.
The brilliant Angus Middleton came into school on Friday for our Burns Assembly and to talk to P1.3. Angus is a past President of the Robert Burns World Federation and gives talks to lots of people and judges Burns competitions all over the world. He watched the rehearsal of our Assembly and was very impressed. We had prepared questions for him and he was able to give us all the answers. Thank you for visiting us, Angus!
We performed at the Burns Assembly and recited the poem “In My Wee Red Motor”. We were brilliant. The Primary 5’s are hosting their Burns Supper on Thursday night and sang their Burns songs . Angus Middleton, a Burns expert, came along to talk to us too. It was a great afternoon.
We have been learning lots about Scots language in class and getting ready for our Scots Assembly. Mrs Fingland taught us “Heids, Shooders, Naps and Taes” in Music. It was really funny.
We love being outside! Every Tuesday afternoon we will be going outdoors in all weathers. This week, we explored our school Eco Garden and made plans for Spring. We also visited the adventure playground. Please ensure all children are well wrapped up – Miss O’Neil will be doing the same as she had no socks on and ended up with very cold toes!
Every week we ask the children which activities they would like in class. We do our best to put in place their requests. This week the request is for a flower shop, so we shall make our flowers at art to sell this week. It all takes time!
Some of us have been learning to add three numbers. It can be quite tricky. We used our cubes to help us to build stories to make 10.
We have been learning to use Nessie for our phonics and reading in ICT. Our mouse control is so much better and we have learned to log on and log off.
We are missing a beautiful jacket in P1.3. It is pink with pink flowers on it and is small. If you have it accidentally at home, please could you return it. One little girl would love to have it back. Thank you.
