We had a great time this afternoon making these scrumptious Easter nest cakes. We washed our hands in the kitchen, melted chocolate and mixed with cornflakes. We then added our little eggs to finish our cakes off. We discussed food allergies and some of the children used special gluten free cornflakes.
Hello! It’s been lovely to see everyone back at school today and hear about all the different adventures that the children have had over the holidays. Mrs Stephenson also showed us some of her wedding pictures. (She was a beautiful bride! ). We have had a quiet day as everyone is still in shock at getting up early and are tired. We are happy to play with our friends again and learn with Mrs Stephenson and Mrs Arbuckle.
The Space Station is now open for flights. Remember to wear your spacesuit and log the jobs you do! Have a good flight! Tell us about your adventures when you return to Earth!
We were making our Papier mache Space helmets to wear in the Space Station. Mrs Arbuckle blew up balloons and we pasted on the paper. We will paint them after they dry.
We had large tubes in the class today. We are going to be cutting them for our Space Station, but in the mean time, they are providing us with some problem solving. How can we get the ball to roll from one end to the other? It provided lots of discussion and lots of resilience!
We were all excited to visit ASDA as part of our lessons in developing the young workforce. We had to put on our special jackets first of all, then we had to start to do the shopping. We all got to scan the shopping through and then we had to match coins from the till. We got goody bags to go home with and then we set off walking back to school. It was a great experience. Thank you to Lee at ASDA. ( Remember to wave to her and say hello if you see her,)
We enjoy reorganising our class and take our lead from the children. We have been looking at the local area, so we have the farm in the tuff tray. We have been talking a lot about space, so we are going to create our very own Space Station in the rôle play corner, so we had to paint the panels. We have also noticed that a lot of our children love to dress up, so we brought in the wardrobe. There have been lots of super heroes appearing to save us!
We had our little “Pizza Hut” in class last week for rôle play and decided that we could make real pizza this week. Pizza is the most favourite choice at the lunch hall. 🍕🍕🍕 First, we all washed our hands. Then, we spread the tomato purėe over the pizza base and added mozzarella cheese and then put it in the oven for 8 minutes. We took it out and Mrs Arbuckle cut it up for us. We took our slices out to eat at Values Playtime. They were yummy.
