We have started our Jolly Phonics Programme and have heard the stories and sung the songs about “s” and “a”. We have searched for them and written them in rice and on paper.
The Number 2
We we’re learning all about the number two today. There were lots of different things to find around the building and out in the playground. We even found two dinner ladies and two teachers! We also looked at the two school goldfish. We then practised writing the number 2. It was quite tricky, but practise makes perfect!
The letter “s”
We started on “s today. It sound sounds like a snake. We did rainbow writing with our snakes and drew spots around them. We also wrote “s”using chalk on the playground. We listened to the “s” story and sang the song.
Busy First Day
Day One is always a bit hectic. Thanks to all our parents who helped us this morning. Everyone settled into class and we all had a good day. No one said they wouldn’t come back! ( Always a good sign!)
We spent the first day getting to know the children and introduce them to our class routines. Practise makes perfect!
Welcome to P1.3

Mr Arbuckle works full time and is in class every day. Miss O’Neil works Monday to Wednesday and Mrs Littlejohn works Thursday and Friday.
We all look forward to meeting you at our “Meet the Teacher” evening on Monday, 20th August. This will be at 6pm until 7pm. It is your chance to hear about what we will be doing in class and ask us any questions.
