At gym today, we did different activities. Some were quite tricky and we had to concentrate. For some, we had to work as a team. It was a lot of fun. We did our warm up first , then a cool down at the end.

Scottish Dancing take 2
We learned some more of our Scottish dance routine today. Our teachers were very impressed with how well we did. 😁
Scottish Dancing
We have started to learn Scottish Country Dancing. We were a bit uncertain at first, but soon got the hang of it. A lot of counting to 8 was heard and a lot of giggles. We had to work as a team and go round for 8in a circle and go back again. Then we had to go up to our partners and clap their hands . We’ll do more next week and add in the music.
Judo
For the next few Mondays, we will be learning Judo with Jack. He is really good and was demonstrating different moves to us and we got to try. We will need to have our gym kit on and when we get to the gym hall, we take off our socks and shoes to go onto the judo mats. It was great fun.
Never a dull moment…
There is always so much going in class and it is lovely to see how well the children have all settled and how they enjoy learning through play. Their discussions are second to none. They are a curious class and are encouraged to try things out for themselves as they work things out. The teachers are always at hand to give support if required, but we always ask the children to try first. The children also ask lots of questions and we adjust our planning to suit their needs and satisfy their answers. “ Why are the leaves yellow? What makes them crispy?” Let’s learn about trees, leaves and the environment they grow in! Then they asked about birds….. and so it snowballs!
Outdoor Play
We had our outdoor play in the Nursery playground today and we were climbing everywhere. Climbing is good for us physically and develops our confidence. So many happy faces!
Lunches
All of our children in P1 are allowed school lunches for free. Parents can find the school lunch menus at
http://www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk/article/8930/Primary-1-to-7-lunch-menu
All menus are subject to change. We order our lunches from our board in class and they go electronically to our lunch staff. Each child is then given a coloured band , which the children give to the lunch ladies in exchange for their lunch. The children know to put their plates, cutlery and rubbish in the bin before they go out to play.
Here is our lunch board.
