We had lots of fun with Mrs Fingland today. We had to jump in the puddles to the beat. We also had to sing back a story to Mrs Fingland. We love music!

Burns Supper
We had our Burns Supper on Friday. Mrs Arbuckle told us all about Robert Burns and we watched the story of Tam O’Shanter . It was quite scary, but we know it was only his imagination. Mrs Arbuckle said the Selkirk Grace before we started to eat our oatcakes and cheese and we ate our shortbread and we drank orange juice. It was delicious. Our school lunch had also offered us haggis, neeps and tatties if we wanted it. At the end, we sang “Auld Lang Syne”. ( We know all the words!)

Our Scots Assembly
We were fantastic at our Scots Assembly. We had all learned our lines, practised our poem and songs and knew the dance. It has taken us over a month to do…but we finally did it! Thank you to everyone who came along to support us. We really appreciated it.
Burns Speaker
The brilliant Angus Middleton came into school on Friday for our Burns Assembly and to talk to P1.3. Angus is a past President of the Robert Burns World Federation and gives talks to lots of people and judges Burns competitions all over the world. He watched the rehearsal of our Assembly and was very impressed. We had prepared questions for him and he was able to give us all the answers. Thank you for visiting us, Angus!
Burns Assembly
We performed at the Burns Assembly and recited the poem “In My Wee Red Motor”. We were brilliant. The Primary 5’s are hosting their Burns Supper on Thursday night and sang their Burns songs . Angus Middleton, a Burns expert, came along to talk to us too. It was a great afternoon.
Heids, Shooders, Naps and Taes
We have been learning lots about Scots language in class and getting ready for our Scots Assembly. Mrs Fingland taught us “Heids, Shooders, Naps and Taes” in Music. It was really funny.
All change ( again!)
Every week we ask the children which activities they would like in class. We do our best to put in place their requests. This week the request is for a flower shop, so we shall make our flowers at art to sell this week. It all takes time!
It’s A Party
The big day finally arrived! We sang, we danced and we clapped on the stage in our beautiful costumes. We were superb!
Thank you to all mums, dads, grannies, grandpas and friends who came along to support us.
Our Santa Selfies
We read the story “Santa Selfie”by Peter Bentley. Santa gets so fed up with people asking him for a selfie whenever he goes out. He goes on holiday and he is inducted for selfie requests. He decides to go home as the elves and Mrs Claus don’t bother him. We then took our own Santa selfies. 🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻
Nativity- Behind the scenes!
We have been rehearsing and rehearsing till we are almost perfect. The stage is up, the manger is in place and the baby Jesus is sleeping in the crib. It is time for us to have our dress rehearsal. It is very scary performing in front of the big children. We did it! We were a big success!
We look performing for you all this week. All Nativity tickets were put in folders on Thursday.
