Outdoor Snacks

The weather was  lovely last  week and we took our snacks outdoors.  We sat  at the picnic benches and talked to our friends and munched! When we finished, we put our rubbish in the bin and our boxes back in our baskets in class.  Then we played  in the sunshine. ☀

Just Another Manic Monday!

Mondays are usually exploring days in P1.3.  We have new activities in class and we get to explore them.  Today we are making the babies for “Mrs Lather’s Laundry”;  building with the Kapla; building at the workbench; playing with games and playing in Mrs Lather’s Laundry. We also do our reading on a Monday morning too.  No wonder we are exhausted at the end of the day!

Sorry I Can’t Be With You 🤒

Hello!

I am so sorry that I can’t be in school this week, but I have been ill in bed with flu since we stopped last week.  It’s not much fun.   I have been having lots of hot drinks and sleeping a lot.  Mr Arbuckle has been looking after me.

I hope that you all had a great holiday and I look forward to hearing about your adventures when I return next week.

Lots  of love

Mrs Arbuckle

Properties of Ice

We looked at the properties of ice last week .  We felt the ice parcels and opened them up to discover trapped teddies in ice castles!  How were we going to get them out?  We tried putting them in cold water, hot water, poured salt on them and just moved them about in a tray.  We discovered that the warm water melted them quicker and we got to release the teddies.  Lots of salt made the ice even more cold.

We also, painted some ice blocks to see what happens to the ice.  It made some great patterns.  We then went out for a walk around the school to see the different patterns the ice had made outside.
