We used the hacksaws today to get the tubes cut down to the right size for the space station. We had to use our muscles! It was quite hard going!

Papier mache Fun
We were making our Papier mache Space helmets to wear in the Space Station. Mrs Arbuckle blew up balloons and we pasted on the paper. We will paint them after they dry.
When life gives you tubes….
We had large tubes in the class today. We are going to be cutting them for our Space Station, but in the mean time, they are providing us with some problem solving. How can we get the ball to roll from one end to the other? It provided lots of discussion and lots of resilience!
Making numbers
We we’re practicing making numbers with pipe cleaners today. It is really good for our concentration, resilience and fine motor skills too.
ASDA – happy to help!
We were all excited to visit ASDA as part of our lessons in developing the young workforce. We had to put on our special jackets first of all, then we had to start to do the shopping. We all got to scan the shopping through and then we had to match coins from the till. We got goody bags to go home with and then we set off walking back to school. It was a great experience. Thank you to Lee at ASDA. ( Remember to wave to her and say hello if you see her,)
What’s new this week?
We enjoy reorganising our class and take our lead from the children. We have been looking at the local area, so we have the farm in the tuff tray. We have been talking a lot about space, so we are going to create our very own Space Station in the rôle play corner, so we had to paint the panels. We have also noticed that a lot of our children love to dress up, so we brought in the wardrobe. There have been lots of super heroes appearing to save us!
P1.3 Pizza 🍕🍕🍕
We had our little “Pizza Hut” in class last week for rôle play and decided that we could make real pizza this week. Pizza is the most favourite choice at the lunch hall. 🍕🍕🍕 First, we all washed our hands. Then, we spread the tomato purėe over the pizza base and added mozzarella cheese and then put it in the oven for 8 minutes. We took it out and Mrs Arbuckle cut it up for us. We took our slices out to eat at Values Playtime. They were yummy.
All Change at PE
Our new timetable has started this week and we now welcome Mr Higgins on a Monday morning. He is a PE teacher and will be extending our skills over the coming months. We will also have to get ready for Sports Day! It takes place in June, but it will soon be here!
Amazing STEM Showcase
Our amazing STEM Showcase took place last night. Mr Tyler and the STEM team put a huge amount of effort into planning it all. It was spectacular and hundreds of children and their parents. We visited the Street this morning to look at all the brilliant creations and STEM selfies.
Mars Meteorites
We had actual Mars meteorites and Mars dust in class today. The meteorites were very, very old. It was amazing to hold things which had had been whizzing about in space which had fallen to Earth. Our P7 Science Lab technicians came along to tell us all about them.
