RRS MASTERCLASSES

Last week we very busy in Primary 2. We took part in our Rights Respecting School Masterclasses.

We did lots of fun things as we learned about our rights to think and believe what we want, and to use the language and customs of our families.

We learned about the Five Pillars of Islam, about some of the ceremonies that take place in a Christian church, about the Buddhist custom of meditation and finally about the importance of music in the Hindu faith.

It was lots of fun!

HARVEST

Thank you to David who came to speak to P2.7 and P2.8 all about Harvest.

We learned that Harvest is a time for being thankful for all we have and also a time to give to those less fortunate.

Well done to our speakers Marton, Freddie, Charlotte and Hooria, and to our helpers Eilidh and Lyle for testing how heavy and difficult it is to carry containers of water. We are very luck to have running water.

We wish the Baptist Church much success in their continued support for ‘tearfund’.

TURKISH DELIGHT

We have been enjoying reading ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ as a class. Last week, we were introduced to the White Witch and read all about her meeting with Edmund and how she was cleverly tricking him in to bringing his brother and sisters back to Narnia with some enchanted Turkish Delight.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Mackey for her own Turkish Delight that she handed in for the class to enjoy. It was quite delicious, if not enchanted, and we thoroughly devoured the boxes as we continued with the story. Yum, yum!
