We all love Free Time at the end of the week. We have Free Time as a reward for good work; having a positive attitude; being kind to others and for good listening. It is also a good opportunity to socialise and share with each other. If anyone has to have their name on the chart for breaking our rules, they can get it taken off by settling back down in class and doing the best they can.
Relaxed Entry
Our doors open at 8.45am every morning. Classes are supervised by classroom assistants and Mrs Arbuckle is usually in class preparing work and catching up with the children. (Coco the cat got a new cat flap!)
When the children come in to class, they take off their jackets, unpack their bags ( snacks in their basket and homework out on the table to be marked) and order lunch on the board. It really helps to settle the children and we are ready to start at 9am.
When all that is done, they settle down to read a book from their book basket. We were reading books we knew from Primary 1 (this develops confidence in reading) but we have now moved on to reading our much loved “Floppy” books. We love reading them and looking at the wonderful illustrations.
A visit from Dave
One of our school Ministers, Dave, called in to talk about Harvest and why it is important to share our food.
Thank You
Thank you to everyone who baked and bought cakes at our MacMillan Coffee Morning. The school raised over £1700 . We are very proud of our achievement.
MacMillan Coffee Morning
Thank you so much for your support and generosity at the school MacMillan Coffee Morning. We were overwhelmed by the amount of cakes we had in the school. The event lasted two days!
