We had two minutes with a partner to discuss our favour books and then the timer played and we had to move on to a different partner. It was fun to move around the class and talk about books we love.

We are all looking fantastic for World Book Day!
World Book Day Challenge
We had a book hunt in the library and had a lot of fun. We had to find books with all different things in them – wellies, a duck and a frog were just some of them.
Solo Talks
A huge thank you to everyone who supported the children in preparing their solo talks. The children were very nervous; very excited and very impressive. They were immensely proud of themselves when they got a round of applause from the entire class ( and me) . The standard was very high and amazing , considering they had never done anything like it before.
Apologies if I missed taking anyone’s photo! I was busy concentrating on listening to the children and trying to write notes .
Burns Day
We celebrated the life and works of Robert Burns with four different master classes.
Mrs Arbuckle told us about his life and we learned about “Tam O’ Shanter”. It was quite scary. Erin P had visited Burns Cottage and showed us some information about it .We also had a class Burns Supper, with oatcakes and cheese and blackcurrant juice. We said “The Selkirk Grace before we started. We finished with “Auld Lang Syne”.
We listened to “My Love Is Like A Red, Red Rose” with Mr Hendry and made beautiful roses.
With Mrs Provan, we learned about the music of “Ye Jacobites By Name” and “Charlie Is My Darling” and kept the beat of the music with instruments. We also learned some Scottish dancing.
Finally, with Mrs Adamson, we learned about Scots words and wrote our own class poem – “The Muckle Coo”.
We had a brilliant day!
