We listened to a talk about the value of money and different types of notes and coins. We had to say what was the most or least expensive things and recognise the difference.

Smile!
We were looking at our teeth as part of our health topic about looking after ourselves. The time has come for the tooth fairy to arrive as so many of our teeth are falling out. Our mouths are changing, but will soon be full again of big, strong teeth.
Here are our happy smiles:
Constructing Castles
We decided to make our own castles and thought that team work would be a good idea. Many hands make light work. We planned our constructions and had to decide what materials we would need; what jobs we would have to create and who would do those jobs.
Our plans worked like clockwork as we set about building our constructions. Mrs Gordon came along too and brought her craft tools for us to try. We were very proud of our achievements at the end of our lesson.
Our Daily Mile
East Renfrewshire Council have encouraged every child to become more healthy by running at least a mile most days at school. At the beginning, a lot of us walked ( that’s allowed) but as time has gone by, more and more of us can easily run 4 laps of our pitch, which makes a mile.
Living in Scotland, we are aware that we can’t run every day because it rains ( a lot) ; it can be very windy; it can be icy and it can be snowy. Every precaution is taken to ensure that the conditions are safe for the children. They would not run on those rare hot days either.
Late Coming
We have had a few problems recently, with parents being phoned to say their child is not at school, when they are actually safe in class. It is a very distressing phone call to receive.
This has been happening as the children have not come in to the school via the school office, where it is noted that they are late and class registers will be changed from ” Absent” to “Late”.
If your child is late , please ensure that they go in to school using the front door and report to the office.
Thank you.
