Scots Poetry competition
Scots Poetry competition. We had a great time listening to all our poems on Monday and then we had our Primary 2 competition yesterday with the finalists for each house from each class performing in front of the whole year group. We can’t wait for the whole school competition next week!

Snow fun
On Tuesday when the snow came, we were lucky enough to get outside and enjoy it at playtime and lunchtime. We also went out during class time and worked as a team to build a cute snowman. We learning how to make a sphere for his head and body and how to find some other objects to give him arms and legs and a face. We are writing about how we made him today as well and having great fun remembering everything we did.
Fractions
We’ve been outside today learning about fractions. We learned that to half an object it has to be the same on each side, so we put elastic bands round sticks and showed halves that way. We discovered two halves make one whole. Learning outside is great fun. Look at all these smiles!
Advent story
Dave from the chaplaincy team came to visit us today and told us the story of Christmas.
We all enjoyed hearing about the angel visiting Mary to tell her she would have a baby, about the angels telling the shepherds about baby Jesus being born in a stable. Then we learned about Mary and Joseph arriving in Bethlehem. Once Jesus was born, some wise men saw a star and came to visit the special baby.
We got a chance to act out each scene through a window of an advent calendar. Here are som photographs of us doing this.
