Class Assembly – Europe Day

What a fabulous assembly. I am so proud of every single child, I am sure all parents and grandparents feel the same and I know the children are all very proud of themselves too. Mrs Donnelly even asked us to stay on and perform it again to the p6s and p7s who were a wonderful audience and who said they were really impressed at how confident and organised our class were. Well done everyone. 😊

Outside on Friday in the sunshine

We spent the morning outside being wildlife ecologists collecting information for the British Ornithogical Society. We measured a patch of grass, then Mrs McGregor dug it for us and we sifted through it to find minibeasts. We then recorded the information on the types of minibeasts we found, along with their length….although measuring the length of a wriggly worm is not as easy as it sounds!

Wind Turbine Engineers

On Friday Mrs Jamil spent the day with us in school. She gave us a presentation on renewable energies as well as talking about how engineers all over the world work to make a difference to our lives. She talked too about how important Science and Maths are and how we should all work hard in these subjects in school.

After the presentation she came round each class and we got a chance to learn about designing, building and testing a wind turbine.  We had a marvellous day and really appreciate Mrs Jamil spending her day with us, encouraging us to investigate, design and create just like real engineers.

Here are some pictures of us, future engineers in the making.
