More Forces

We learned more today about forces and how the effect of different forces results in different speed and direction. We designed and made boats then predicted how they would move when we blew lightly or with more strength, then we tested them by blowing them across water. We had great fun while we were learning as you can see from all our happy faces.

We also learned a bit about balanced forces and that if two equal forces are pushing and pulling at the same time, the object won’t move.

Here are some photos of us designing and making our boats, testing them and proudly showing them.

Forces

We have been learning all about Forces. We have enjoyed taking part in many activities to learn about PUSH and PULL. We walked round the school and found lots of examples of when we use these forces and how they work. Now we know that a Push or a Pull can make an object move and can change the direction of an object.

Here are some photos of us learning in class and using different strengths of force to make objects move.

Scots Poetry competition

Scots Poetry competition. We had a great time listening to all our poems on Monday and then we had our Primary 2 competition yesterday with the finalists for each house from each class performing in front of the whole year group. We can’t wait for the whole school competition next week!

Here are the house finalists for P2:

Poplar Miriam Robertson
Oak Lois Goldie
Cedar Mia McCamon
Beech Donald MacInnes

Snow fun

On Tuesday when the snow came, we were lucky enough to get outside and enjoy it at playtime and lunchtime. We also went out during class time and worked as a team to build a cute snowman. We learning how to make a sphere for his head and body and how to find some other objects to give him arms and legs and a face. We are writing about how we made him today as well and having great fun remembering everything we did.
