Adrienne, the Minister from Newton Mearns Baptist Church has been visiting Primary One for the last six weeks to share Bible stories with us. These are the stories we have been learning about:
The Walls of Jerico
Daniel In the Lions’ Den
The Story of Moses
Jonah and the Whale
The Story of Zacchaeus
The Lost Sheep
We also found out that the bible has 66 books altogether. The Old Testament has 39 books and the New Testament has 27 books. Did you know the Bible has 773,692 words altogether!
Although the sun wasn’t shining for us, that didn’t stop us. We had our Sports Day in the gym hall yesterday. Here we are waiting for our turn.
Look at us go!
Congratulations to all Primary 1.3 sporting stars!
Our P1.3 medalists – Charlie Cunningham (Silver), Christopher Snowden (Bronze) and Anna Hill (Bronze) for the Flat Race. Gregor Adamson (Silver) and Aleena Shoaib (Silver) for the Bean Bag Balance Race.
All set to go.
We had lots of fun on our trip to the Balgray Reservoir, Dams to Darnley. We went for a walk round the water with Joe looking at the different features and wildlife surrounding it.
Then we had a short break.
Next we worked in teams to build and test different types of dams. We used big stones, small stones and sand. When we got back to class we had a discussion about what worked and what didn’t. We think that sand was the best material as it held back the water for longer.
