The senior pupils organised a fun session to encourage us not to use as much ‘single use plastic’. The children sorted rubbish and looked at what could be recycled. They also estimated how long it would take for certain items to biodegrade and carried out a mini task to remove rubbish from sand. The final activity was to throw bottle lids into a jar while missing drawings of a beach or river etc. The children clearly understood that they should recycle or put their rubbish in the bin so that it did not end up elsewhere.

Hit The Button
As part of STEM Fortnight we have been using different methods of carrying out our calculations. Here we are having a go at ‘Hit the Button’. We have now set up a rota so that children get a regular chance to use this resource.
STEM Fortnight – Our Visit from Dr Diamond
As part of STEM Fortnight we had a very interesting visit from Dr Diamond. We learned all about being a doctor and the children particularly enjoyed trying out all of the special equipment.
Bees
As part of Stem fortnight we were finding out about bees today. Using our science knowledge and maths we made our very own honeycomb. We were delighted with how ‘real’ it looked.
We’re going to add more detail to it tomorrow.
World Book Day
The children enjoyed the opportunity to show one of their favourite books to their classmates.
