Well done to the Turtles for reaching 10 Dojo Points! As their reward they chose ‘playtime with the teacher’. We played games, danced and had lots of fun! Poor Emily wasn’t best pleased that Miss O’Neil stopped her amazingĀ dancing to snap a picture!
Hahaha, Emily does like a wee boogie!! Well done turtles!
Well done turtles! Miss O’Neil, could you let me know what dojo points are and how they work? Novice school mum question!! š
Of course! We use both individual and group Dojo points. Individual points are given for lots of different reasons such as great effort while working, being kind, showing good listening etc. When the children reach a ten (10,20,30 etc) they receive a prize. Groups can gain points from having a tidy table, showing good listening, taking care of resources etc and when they reach a ten then can choose from; playtime with the teacher, extra golden time, ipad time or shop time. Points can also be lost for not showing good listening, being unkind etc but this happens less often.
Ah that’s great, thanks!
