We had a visit with a difference. This time we had a unique opportunity to see and handle some rocks that have come from the moon. The children enjoyed the experience – and so did the staff. We learned a lot of interesting facts about the moon and lunar exploration.
We have been learning about healthy eating in preparation for our class assembly on Wednesday 13 June. The children had previously discussed what foods were healthy and had made a list of healthy/not so healthy foods!
Here they are working in pairs to create a healthy plate.
We have been working on ‘time’ – quarter past and quarter to. The children have had fun using the clocks to show their knowledge and have had great success in their written work. Here they are during a Time warm-up when we did a variety of activities for one minute each. It was fun to watch the countdown timer!
During our maths period we used the IPads to practise our mental maths. We played Sumdog, Education City and King of Maths. children’s logins and passwords are at the front of their diaries if you want to play at home.
Today we started to make our own Maths board games. The idea is to make a game all about the months of the year or number words to 100. We’ll continue making them next week and then the best part- playing them !
