We have now finished working on finding the main idea in our reading passages and will be moving on to sequencing next week. To help us with this we will be carrying out a practical sequencing task linked to our unseen text. We will be making Fairy Bread – and, if willing, we will eat it too! The ingredients are white bread, ‘margarine’ and various sugar strands/sprinkles. If anyone is not to eat this please let us know via the homework diary.

Enterprise
We have been working hard to plan and implement our business enterprise project. We are now in the production stages and busy making our Christmas craft to sell at the fayre. The children have a letter with information about buying their craft before the fayre.
Numeracy
We are counting up to 100 in 10’s.
In mental maths we count forwards and back while keeping a beat by clapping and tapping. We count up in 1’s, 2’s and 10’s and try to count down too.
After finishing our task, which was vertical addition, we enjoy playing maths games.
RME
The children have been enjoying hearing some bible stories. Thanks to the minister for coming in to tell us some of these.
We enjoyed using materials, including our leaves, to recreate the story of ‘Daniel and the lions den’.
Social Studies
In Social Studies we’ve been finding out about types of weather. We went onto the pitch and measured the wind and its direction. In the playground we looked for evidence of different weathers . In class we’ve spoken about our climate, amazing how much the children know about the rain !! After this, we matched the correct clothing to the weather. The children enjoyed talking about places they’ve been on holiday and the weather there.
