They can provide advice and practical guidance on living with sight loss.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blind Children UK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blindchildrenuk.org\">www.blindchildrenuk.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>(Formerly National Blind Children\u2019s Society) Blind Children UK is the leading charity for the 40,000 children and young people in Great Britain with a vision impairment. This charity assists children and their families to tackle the challenges of sight loss and to live as independently as possible.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Visibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.visibilityscotland.org.uk\">www.visibilityscotland.org.uk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Visibility provides services such as information, training and support for anyone living with sight loss. They organise a variety of age-appropriate social and sporting activities to bring young people together in a supported and stimulating environment including baby and toddler groups, mobility training and family days.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scottish Sensory Centre<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ssc.education.ed.ac.uk\">www.ssc.education.ed.ac.uk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Scottish Sensory Centre promotes and supports new developments and effective practices in the education of children and young people with sensory impairments, i.e. visual impairment, deaf and deafblind. It provides CPD short courses, hosts conferences, shares research and provides a postal resource library. It also disseminates reports, research, course materials and new developments via this website, publications and presentations.<\/p>\n<p>The SSC works collaboratively with education authorities, schools and groups of teachers, voluntary organisations, parents\u2019 groups and young people themselves.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Call Scotland<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.callscotland.org.uk\">www.callscotland.org.uk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Provides specialist expertise in technology for children who have speech, communication and \/ or writing difficulties, in schools across Scotland.
