Some of the children had enjoyed the story of ‘This is the Bear and the Picnic Lunch’. A mind map was then made together and we decided to walk to Asda to buy the shopping. We wanted cheese sandwiches, PomBears and watermelon juice.
The children walked down and loved watching a roofer fixing a roof, waving to the Bus driver and watching the refuse collectors empty the bins. In Asda they all looked for the items on the shopping list and added them to the baskets. We even met one of our lovely mums at the checkout who helped us put our shopping through and pack away into our bags. After lunch we made some cheese sandwiches and enjoyed having another wee ‘blether’. A huge thank you to all the staff and customers at Asda for making us so welcome and a huge big thank you to Mrs Kelly for joining us.
Exploring
Today we put on our wellies and went off to explore the woods and the far end of the play ground. We did all of our Forest Kindergarten checks and then off we went.
We also took part in some number activities as well as identifying upper case letters and thinking of words that start with that sound.
An added bonus was that Miss Dixon had found a frog which she brought over to show us before she put it down near the burn to be safe.

Thank you to everyone who came to our Friday BookBug session with Miss Macdonald.

BookBug

Gastronomers – Spring Rolls
This week Mrs Rafay taught us how to make spring rolls. We had to chop spring onions, red peppers and cabbage. It was then cooked and we added some spices and other ingredients to add flavour.
When the mixture had cooled we put some on the pastry sheets and then rolled them and folded them to make our spring rolls. Then we fried them. When they were cool enough we were able to taste them!
We chatted about who had tasted spring rolls before and who may have helped to make them at home.
A wee story
Nothing better than a wee story to finish a busy day.
Big Art
We used wallpaper and oil pastels to create some big art tonight. #Starcatchers
Celtic Connections
On the 21st of January we all travelled to the Royal Concert Hall to see a concert that was part of the Celtic Connections festival. We boarded big coaches and took the short journey into the city centre. We enjoyed the music and clapped along to the beat. Some of us became quite tired and fell asleep! We also enjoyed watching some Tom and Jerry in the way home on the bus.
