Exploring

Today we put on our wellies and went off to explore the woods and the far end of the play ground.  We did all of our Forest Kindergarten checks and then off we went.

We also took part in some number activities as well as identifying upper case letters and thinking of words that start with that sound.

An added bonus was that Miss Dixon had found a frog which she brought over to show us before she put it down near the burn to be safe.

Storydough

We have been exploring characters and stories using the Story Dough approach.     After reading Little Red Riding Hood and Jack and the Beanstalk we talked about the baddies in these tales.

The children then made their own characters and gave them a magic button.  When they press the magic button their character does something special!  It was so lovely to hear all of their fantastic ideas!

Pitch Play

This morning we had a great time playing listening games on the pitch.  We sang songs and rhymes as we travelled and completed part of the “Daily Mile”!

Our cheeks were rosy and Mrs James enjoyed hearing all the giggles and chatter!

On our way back to the nursery we played number games and looked at how the trees have changed colour!

“Look a wiggly tree!”

During our time in the woods yesterday we came across an interesting tree.  One child pointed out that it was wiggling!

What do you think?

We put on our thinking caps again and shared our ideas on how the tree became a wiggly tree.  Some thought that someone had sat on it, others that it got squashed by a monster!

The tree then grew nice and straight up to the sky!
