The children had been talking about ‘hiding boxes’. To follow this spark, some of the children went to the woods and played hide and seek, then they did a number hunt and lastly built their own dens with stick, camouflage and material.

We were talking about the Highland Games, so instead of throwing a hammer we had ‘bounce the hammer’ and created a wonderful painting at the same time.
We have been learning about the different tools we can use in our woodwork area. We have been finding out what they are called and using the iPads we scanned QR codes to watch videos on how to use them safely.
Stay tuned to see the childrens’ skills progressing, I can’t wait to see all the masterpieces that will be making their way home in the near future 😉

Today we were selling actual pieces of ice, we queued and waited beautifully and counted out the exact amount of pennies to make the purchase.
Today we continued painting the ice but this time with classical music.
The learning outside has been amazing. From painting frozen ice, to counting pennies out to buy ice-cream, to comparing shadows, to making mud hot chocolate, to playing the drums and even finding both the moon and the sun in the sky! What a fabulous day.
We are looking for a stair gate and hoping that someone may have a spare one in their loft or garage? If you do it would be most appreciated. Thank you.
Lots of fantastic collaboration in the block area, building lorries, castles and brick laying!
