We had great fun tonight with glow in the dark hand paint and using the backlight torches to make them glow!

Parent Group Availability
Hi all,
Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend.
As discussed at our recent induction meeting, I would like to create a parent group meeting so that parents have a direct link with the nursery team. This group will be in place to:
- Support parent wellbeing
- Create a home-link between nursery and home
- Offer a space to ask questions
- Discuss upcoming events and plans for the setting
If you would like to join, please click this link and let me know what you would like to discuss!
We are hoping to start this group next week.
Please be aware that on the 18th of November we plan on having our meeting at 9AM if you are all available.
Thank you,
Miss Ravey
Pitch Play
This morning we had a great time playing listening games on the pitch. We sang songs and rhymes as we travelled and completed part of the “Daily Mile”!
Our cheeks were rosy and Mrs James enjoyed hearing all the giggles and chatter!
On our way back to the nursery we played number games and looked at how the trees have changed colour!
If you go down to the woods today…….
The yellow and green groups had a great visit to the woods this afternoon. We found sticks of all shapes and sizes, we used our imagination to make the sticks into cars, fire engines and unicorns. We also found the ‘Gruffalo’, can you spot it in the pictures!
Halloween Fun! 🎃
Next week we are all looking forward to some ghostly goings on and fun spooky activities. All children are welcome to dress up on any or all of the days. We are looooooooooooking forward to its 👻 🎃
Mearns Marchers
Mrs Murray will be leading our ‘Mearns Marchers’ walking group on Wednesday 30th October, at 9.15am. This is open to all parents, grandparents to join Mrs Murray for a ‘blether’ and a walk. It is a great way to meet other parents and to talk informally whilst getting fit. If you would like more details or would like to join Mrs Murray, please let a staff member know. 💛.

Makaton
We have been learning a new makaton sign every fortnight. We hope the children have been sharing and teaching you at home.
Hello from our new senior, Miss Ravey!
Hello all,
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Miss Ravey and I am now the new senior at Mearns Nursery Class.
I have worked with children for over 10 years now, and I love it! I have a 1st class honours degree in Childhood Studies and a post graduate diploma in Childhood Practice. I was a manager in a private nursery for 5 years and prior to this I was a manager for an out of school club. I have spent time in schools, worked in David Lloyd for 2 years working with the children and leading dance classes, and worked in nurseries with all ages! My dissertation was on neuroscience and I love developing children’s cognitive development, so STEM is my favourite aspect of learning, which links in really well with the Mearns Masters innovative curriculum. I love to extend learning and support children to build up their awareness of their world. I really look forward to getting to know you all and working with your children and families. If you’d like a chat, please don’t hesitate to approach me at drop off or pickup!
