Following a discussion in the garden last week about protecting our daffodils and seeds, the children suggested making scarecrows to “keep the crows away.”
We used recycled materials that we had investigated last week to see which were waterproof. The materials that were best for the little buddy’s roof were plastic bags, plastic and tinfoil so we decided to use them.
We also used natural materials like sticks and cones that we had collected in the woods.
Today we have been investigating materials. We have looked at materials that we would find in our homes and natural materials that we would find in our kitchens.
We were thinking about what each of the materials felt like, what words we would use to describe them and we guessed what they were made of. Then we checked to see if they were waterproof.
This week we have been exploring patterns. We have been talking about colours and shapes and using this knowledge to create our own patterns. Some of us have even drawn our own patterns.
Can you help? We are looking for some wall clocks and a pasta making machine – if you have any lying around collecting dust can you please let Mrs Murray know. Thank you 💛
