Last week in P3.10 we made cinnamon rolls. The cinnamon rolls were sweet and delicious. We had lots of fun making them. First we mixed cinnamon and sugar together. Next we spread the cinnamon and sugar mix over the pastry. Then we rolled the pastry up. Finally we cut the pastry into 8 pieces and put it into the oven. That’s all for now!

We love learning about subtraction and we love being outside so we really enjoyed our Numeracy today. We used chalk to create subtraction calculations on the ground. It was brilliant to learn on a sunny day in the playground! 🌞🏫

Our week has been very musical! We learnt a song with Singing Hands in the classroom. We also played a game where we had a sit in a circle. Someone was chosen as the secret cat and we had to listen out for their meow! We learnt some new songs with Mrs Lyall and had lots of fun.

We had fun this week in P3.10 designing monsters and colouring them in. Our monsters are amazing, pretty, nice, scary, colourful and wonderful! We got sticky notes and wrote describing words about our monsters on the notes. Next we wrote descriptions of our monsters in our jotters. Our favourite part was writing on the sticky notes and seeing everyone’s monsters!

First we learnt about the different moons in the Solar System. Then we drew pictures of the moon. When we came back to class we played game of snap and thought about the phases of the moon. It was very fun and exciting!

In our music lessons we are learning how to count out a beat and move in time to a rhythm. We are working with our lovely music teacher Mrs Lyall. We learnt lots of songs and practised ways of moving to the beat. It was so much fun!
This week we all had the opportunity to share the items we would put into a Time Capsule, showing the things that are most important to us at this moment in time. Everyone spoke clearly and confidently about their Capsules. After presenting to the class, we spent some time investigating each other’s fantastic boxes. Well done everyone!
We were lucky enough to have a few visitors this week to talk about interesting STEM topics – a visit from Scott at Asda, in which we chatted about where all of our food comes from; and a visit from real Beekeepers (sixth year pupils from St Ninian’s High School!) Have a look at the photos below.
This week we had loads of fun planning and creating our Push or Pull Junk Modelling toys. You can see some pics below! We also spent some time sharing our favourite books for World Book Day!
The Rainbows, Brownies and other clubs held their annual Thinking Day this week, and a few of our children came to school dressed in their super smart uniforms! We spent some time reflecting on how we can help each other in society. We also spent more time investigating and using money. We used our yoga skills during PE this week, and as you can see from the concentration on our faces we are really improving! Last but by no means least – we have begun our ‘Campaigners’ Mearns Masters. Through class discussion about mini beasts, we found out that bees are really important to humans- and they are in danger due to Cilmate Change, pesticides and other garden bugs . We have to learn more, and then let people know what they can do to encourage more bees into our gardens. This week, we started by thinking about what we know, and what we would like to know….
