During Maths time we have been further focusing on money. Mrs Stephenson has been challenging us, both through play opportunities and written tasks, to show coin combinations for different values within 50p. For the activity above, items from our classroom were labelled with different prices and we had to find the correct coins to pay for each item.
Month: March 2022
Hockey
During our outdoor P.E time, we are now focusing on hockey. Today our main aim was to hold the hockey stick correctly. Next week we will further develop our skills in moving with a ball. By the end of the lesson today we were very tired so spent 5 minutes having a little rest (some of us even lay down) in the glorious sunshine!
Nursery Playground
Whilst our classroom was being used for a parent workshop, we enjoyed a little visit to the nursery garden. It was great being able to see the nursery teachers and have fun with our friends. We are really enjoying getting outdoors as the weather improves!
Spring has Sprung
We have been enjoying exploring the outdoors for signs of Spring. From this, we have become interested in the different minibeasts we have come across. One of our boys found a little ladybird that had lost its way on the pitch. We brought it back into class to have a closer look then set it free on the grass outside. Our play corner is now our ‘Minibeast Investigation’ spot filled with books about different insects along with some insects to study.
Literacy
Today we took our handwriting outdoors into the glorious sunshine. We enjoyed using the chalk and when we weren’t working with Mrs Stephenson we drew nice pictures. ☀️
We are also now learning about vowels. Mrs Noble was in our classroom this morning and taught us a song to help us identify these letters.
