Recently we have been learning about fractions. We were learning about where fractions go on a number line. We had to make a number line counting up in halves, thirds or quarters. Some of our number lines stretched all the way across the room!

Last week we practised skip counting by drawing ladders outside with chalk. We counted in 2s, 3s, 4s and 5s. It was very fun and we had an amazing time! We also skip counted in 10s.

A few weeks ago, we made 3D objects using spaghetti and marshmallows. We made cubes, square-based pyramids and cuboids. We loved this activity and we had a hard time trying not to eat the marshmallows! It was good fun.

We had fun today using classroom objects to create symmetrical pictures. We arranged our objects and then drew a sketch of our creations. It was a real challenge trying to find objects which would fit in well!

Last week in P3.10 we were looking at our times tables. We played two different games. For the first game we made cards with times tables and matching arrays. For the second game we made Multiplication Mats and cards to go with them. We took our matching multiplication cards home and played with our families. It was so fun!

Last week we drew Number Ladders and Maths Mazes outside on the playground. First we got into our pairs and took a piece of chalk. Next we wrote down our sums. Then we tested out our ladders and our mazes. It was very fun!

In our Art lesson we learnt how to make clay animals. First we took a small piece of clay. Then we took smaller pieces and turned them into body parts. Next we left our animals to dry on the windowsill. Finally we painted them. They were awesome!

Just before the holidays in P3.10 we made some gingerbread people and stars. First we mixed the ingredients to make the dough. Then we rolled out the dough using a rolling pin. Next we cut the dough into shapes. Finally we put them onto a tray and into the oven. They were delicious and amazing. Our families enjoyed them too!

We loved baking our Beany Breakfast Pasties last week. Even though beans are not the favourite ingredient of some children in our class, we really enjoyed cooking with them. First we washed our hands and put our aprons on. Then we went to the table and listened to instructions. Next we grated some cheese and cut some spring onions. We put cheese, beans and spring onions onto our puff pastry circles and closed them up. Finally we put them in the oven. They looked golden and they tasted delicious!

We were making Berry Breakfast Bites in the kitchen last week. First we cut our strawberries and raspberries into little pieces. Then we put them into a bowl. Next we mixed them with porridge oats, butter and golden syrup and put the mixture into cupcake cases. Finally we put them into the oven. Bon appétit!
